Such a small powerhouse has Luxembourg become one of the European countries too overpowered by other countries. But this landlocked beauty has some real punch in terms of historical past, modernity, and the most glorious natural scenery. Whether history acts as a magnet in you, there is something that nature has in it for its lovers, or you just want to know a few more things about the culture; Luxembourg again caters to everybody’s interests. Here’s to the sights of a lifetime in Luxembourg:

1. Luxembourg City : The Capital of Contrasts

The Old Town (Ville Haute):

UNESCO World Heritage Site, this old town is a maze of cobblestone streets, ancient fortifications, and picturesque squares.

Don’t miss the Bock Casemates, an impressive network of tunnels through the rock with picturesque views over the city.

A Grand Ducal Palace, the official residence of the Grand Duke, known for its architectural grandeur.

The Grund:

Located in the valley under the Old Town, the Grund is short for a beautiful district with narrow streets, interesting houses, and the river Alzette flowing across it.

Walk along the riverbanks or have lunch in a traditional restaurant.

The Kirchberg plateau:

This area is completely different from Old Town. Kirchberg is a modern business district boasting striking modern architecture: Philharmonie Luxembourg, Mudam Luxembourg (Museum of Modern Art).

Here, one can witness the banker’s face of Luxembourg.

2. The Ardennes Region : Its Playground By Nature

Vianden Castle:

Visit its medieval halls, towers, and ramparts or enjoy the panoramic views of the countryside surrounding it.

Esch-sur-Sûre:

Esch-sur-Sûre is a picture postcard village stranded in a meander of the River Sûre, famous for ruined castles and hiking.

The nature park surrounding it is ideal for activities such as hiking, cycling, and kayaking.

Mullerthal Region (little Switzerland):

Dramatic cliff formations, thick forest, and thickly cascading waterfalls create little Switzerland’s nickname for the Mullerthal region; otherwise, it is a hiker’s paradise.

The hiking route is the Mullerthal Trail, which traverses 112 kilometers of some of the most beautiful scenery.

3. A Moselle Valley: Poetry in Wine

Remich:

This alluring place lies on the banks of the Moselle River, among vineyards and wine cellars.

Things to do: Sail through the river and sip on local wines, or stroll and take in the countryside.

National Museum of History and Art (MNHA):

Much can be said about the country’s history and culture, and the MNHA in Luxembourg City displays all of it.
